Looking for the Best Khao Soi in Bangkok? This article gives you more details about the Khao Soi Bangkok Top 5. Even though Khao Soi mostly served in the Northern parts of Thailand, with a little bit of research, you can find this delicious Thai curry even in the Big Mango.

Khao Soi is a popular curry that originates from Northern Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. This herby dish is prepared with noodles, usually served with a tender chicken drumstick and topped with crunchy fried noodles [1]. In Northern Thailand, you can find this delicious meal in almost any restaurant but in Bangkok, it’s a little bit harder to find on regular menus. We did a lot of research and came to the following conclusion when it comes to the best khao soi in Bangkok.

The best khao soi in Bangkok are:

1. Khao Soi at Daradalay

Known for serving one of the best Khao Soy in Bangkok, Daradalay is set away from the tourist trail and remains more of a local secret. The restaurant is surrounded by trees and guests can look out over the peaceful garden and forget they’re in the heart of one of the world’s largest cities.  Daradalay offers different varieties of Khao Soi including pork, chicken and a vegetarian mushroom version cooked with organic, homegrown produce. The fresh ingredients, relatively low prices and authentic Thai feel make Daradalay our number one place for Top 5 Khao Soi Bangkok. A bowl of Khao Soi costs 50 THB. More information about this restaurant, such as the location of this local restaurant, opening times and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Daradalay

2. Khao Soi at Hann Khao Soi Lovers

Hann Khao Soi Lovers moved to a different location due to popularity. Previously, Hann Khao Soi Lovers was located in an alley close to Ari BTS Station,  which is a hugely popular alley to get cheap and delicious food. Especially during lunch, when office workers and university students in the area are looking for a delicious meal, this alley is crowded. Nowadays, you can find Hann Khao Soi Lover a Saliratthawiphak Road, a busy road between Ari BTS and Saphan Kwai BTS. Hann Khao Soi Lovers is changed into a real restaurant with airconditioning and more seats. The menu is also expanded, however, the three most popular dishes still remain on the menu: Khao Soi and two different rice noodle curries.

The Khao Soi is by far
the favourite and can be seen as one of the best khao soi in Bangkok. What changed as well is the fact that the curry doesn't run out anymore, which used to be the case when Hann Khao Soi Lovers was still a street food vendor. So you don't have to worry that you can't taste this heavenly curry when you visit this restaurant. One of the things that didn't change is the price. A bowl of delicious chicken Khao Soi with a Chicken Drumstick cost you only 50 THB. Hann Khao Soi Lovers is also listed in our article about

3. Khao Soi at Ong Thong Khao Soi

Ong Thong’s first restaurant was located in Chiang Mai and due to its massive success, the owners opened a Bangkok branch in 2017. This was a good move, as Ong Thong quickly gained popularity among Bangkok residents for serving one of the capital’s best Khao Soi. Ong Thong Khao Soi specializes in all sorts of Northern Thai treats, including Northern Thai Sausage and Boiled Field Crab but as the name suggests, the main draw is the Khao Soi. The two-floor, modern restaurant is located close to Ari BTS Station. Compared to the other Khao Soi dishes on our list, this version has a deeper colour because of the herbs they use. Prices range from 69 – 109 THB. More information about this restaurant, such as the location of this local restaurant, opening times and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Ong Thong Khao Soi

Nomsensingha (CLOSED)

Nomsensingha is a small and modern restaurant located close to Bang Chak BTS Station. It’s run by a young, friendly couple and serves Northern Thai dishes. What sets Nomsensingha apart is that they specialize in Chiang Rai Khao Soi rather than the Chiang Mai variety served by the other restaurants on this list. This means their tasty Khao Soi has less coconut milk and we really like the pork ribs version. The price for Khao Soi ranges from 65 to 120 THB. You can check recent reviews and ratings by TopTravelFoods users on the Nomsensingha Page.

4. Khao Soi at Sibsong Banna Noodle House

This small restaurant is located in Silom Soi 3 and is as yet undiscovered by tourists. It is however well-known among local food lovers and during lunch hours you have to wait in line to get a spot at this popular Khao Soi restaurant. Like others on this list, the menu at Sibsong Banna Noodle House is limited and mainly focuses on Khao Soi. You can choose between chicken, pork and beef and at just 35 THB for a regular bowl, this is the cheapest Khao Soi on our list. Sibsong Banna Noodle House is also listed in our article about the best restaurants near Patpong and Silom Night MarketMore information about this restaurant, such as the location of this local restaurant, opening times and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Sibsong Banna Noodle House

5. Ginger Farm Kitchen

In 2019, the popular Northern Thai Ginger Farm Kitchen that is based Chiang Mai opened several branches in Bangkok. The idea behind Ginger Farm Kitchen is a combination of stunning looking branches with a countryside feeling and amazing looking Northern Thai dishes created with homegrown ingredients. The menu is Ginger Farm Kitchen is amazing and even after visiting this restaurant several times, we still get excited by the dishes we haven't tried yet. Obviously, a Northern Thai restaurant such as Ginger Farm Kitchen serves Khao Soi, and like all the other dishes, the Khao Soi is authentically flavoured, but also beautifully presented. The Khao Soi at Ginger Farm Kitchen is incredibly creamy and the curry itself is finished with roasted sesame seeds which give the curry a hearty touch. Bonus: Khao Soi Kitchen (Sukhumvit 50, On Nut)

Khao Soi Kitchen is a small restaurant located in Sukhumvit Soi 50, a ten-minute-walk from BTS On Nut and recently opened its doors in March 2020. The owner and chef, Khun Siripha lived in Chiang Mai until the age of fifteen until she moved to New York. During her whole childhood, she ate Khao Soi at least twice a day, but could not find any similar tasted, authentic Khao Soi in the United States. Now, she is back in Thailand and is dedicated to serving the authentic Nothern Thai speciality that she so loved since she was young. The Khao Soi served at Khao Soi Kitchen is rich and creamy and has a slightly spicy tone, just enough to tickle your taste buds. The Khao Soi is served with a chicken drumstick, which is tender enough to scoop the chicken meat straight from the bone with a spoon. Besides Khao Soi, Khao Soi Kitchen also serves Massaman Curry and Pad Thai, both are highly recommended as well.

The reason why Khun Sirpiha chooses Bangkok is that it’s difficult to find great Khao Soi in Bangkok - which I agree - as many of the best Khao Soi in Bangkok listed in this article are often located far away from common areas. With the opening of Khao Soi Kitchen, many Bangkokians can now easily enjoy authentic flavoured Khao Soi. The fact that this restaurant has so many returning customers from day one can only mean one thing: the Khao Soi is simply amazing! And with the ambitions of Khun Siripha, it is safe to say that we will hear much more about this restaurant in the upcoming years.
