In this article, we cover the best restaurants near Patpong and Silom Night Market. These two night markets are a popular destination for many tourists, although the quality of the markets is, in our opinion, not that great. We didn’t even list them in our article about the best night markets in Bangkok. The other reason why it attracts so many tourists is that Patpong is known for its red-light district, which attracts all sorts of curious tourists the same way it Amsterdam attracts curious tourists to its red-light district. For that reason, the popularity of Patpong and Silom Night Market, we decided to do the research and recommend you the best restaurants near Patpong and Silom Night Market.

In this area, you will find a large number of amazing Japanese restaurants. For the purpose of this article, we’ve split the restaurants into two sections, namely one with only Thai restaurants and the other part with only Japanese restaurants.

Thai restaurants

Hai Som Tam Convent

Hai Som Tam Convent is a hugely popular local restaurant on the opposite side of Silom Night Market and is easy to recognize with the bright green entrance. The restaurant is your typical local venue with wooden chairs and tables, bright fluorescent lights, certificates and awards hanging on the wall and is surprisingly clean. In front of the restaurant, there are two street food-like carts installed where the chefs are preparing delicious versions of papaya salad. Keep in mind that some of the papaya salads have pla-ra in it, which is an ingredient that not every foreigner likes. Besides papaya salads, they also serve a wide variety of other Isaan specialities. We recommend you to try at least one of the following dishes: Larb Moo (95 THB), Koh Moo Yang (100 THB), Pla Kung (150 THB) and the Som Tam Too Cab Mu (90 THB). This restaurant is so popular that you often have to wait for a table and is only open until nine o’clock in the evening. Sibsong Banna Noodle House

This small local restaurant is specialized in a handful of Northern Thai curries, including the widely known Northern Thai curry Khao Soi. In fact, the Khao Soi at this local restaurant is so good, that it’s listed in our article about the best khao soi in Bangkok. Especially during lunchtime is Sibson Banna Noodle House completely filled with hungry locals and you often have to wait in line to get a seat. Each curry they serve come in two versions, a regular version that cost you 35 THB or a special version, which is richer filled, that cost you 45 THB per bowl. The bowls are not that large, so ordering a second bowl is common. We recommend you to try the Ka-Nhom Chine Nam Ngeow (45 THB) and the Ka-Nhom Chine Nam Ya (45 THB) besides the khao soi. Keep in mind that the restaurant is only open until three o’clock in the afternoon, meaning that it’s not a restaurant that you can visit during the Patpong and Silom Night Markets.
