Pe Aor Tom Yum Kung Noodles' menu & recommended dishes
Pe Aor's menu features 27 different versions of Tom Yum soup cooked with various types of noodles and seafood. From jumbo prawns to pork ribs or an entire lobster, the variety is enormous and there’s a soup to suit everyone’s budget and taste. The broth itself is incredibly aromatic, creamy and boasts a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavours. The seafood and meats are of outstanding quality, so you might find it hard to choose with all these delicious options.
The highlight is their most expensive Tom Yum, named Lobster and the Gang, which costs around 1,200 baht depending on the size of the lobster. The Lobster and the Gang includes a lobster, two large mussels, squid and slices of salmon. When you visit Pe Aor Tom Yum Kung Noodle as a group, this is one of the better options you can get. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, the Lobster in Love is smaller but just as tasty. For 450 baht, you get a 200-gram lobster and two large mussels. The portion can serve two people, so you can still enjoy this premium seafood dish for a reasonable price. Other Tom Yum soups start at just 50 baht, including the signature Tom Yum with Freshwater Prawn for 60 baht.
Other popular seafood dishes at Pe Aor
Pe Aor Tom Yum Kung Noodle also serves more than just Tom Yum soup. One of their most popular dishes is the Crab Spring Rolls. For only 50 baht, you get crispy spring rolls filled with rich crab meat. Another great alternative is the Fried Noodles with Tom Yum Seafood (150 baht), which features stir-fried Tom Yum flavoured glass noodles with fresh seafood such as river prawns, squid, and mussels.

For those of you who are seeking a delicious Tom Yum, Pe Aor is the place to go, but there’s just one catch. After Mark Wiens claimed that Pe Aor served the best Tom Yum Kung in Bangkok, the restaurant soared in popularity with tourists. In fact, the owner told me he’s had to adjust the original recipes slightly because tourists can’t handle the spiciness of the food. In other words, the soup adjusted to the Western taste palate. Does that mean the soup is not spicy? No, the soup is still spicy. If you're looking for an authentic (and more spicy) version of Tom Yum, check out our article about the best Tom Yum soups in Bangkok. With that being said, we still believe that Pe Aor serves among the best Tom Yum soups in the city and the fact that this place is always jam-packed with loyal customers, both tourists and Thai, proves that they do something special.
