King Seafood in Pattaya is an institution when it comes to seafood in Pattaya. In this article, I will explain what makes King Seafood in Pattaya so unique, what food you should not miss and all the information you should know to enjoy a nice seafood dinner.

King Seafood in Pattaya was founded in 1996, and over the years, the restaurant developed a certain popular status to enjoy great food with a beautiful seaside view. Recently, in October 2019, the interior of the restaurant got a complete renovation and with the new looks, the restaurant can continue its operations for the next years. Although the restaurant is recently renovated, I believe it still maintains characteristics you see in local eateries. But King Seafood is far from a typical local restaurant, though.

When entering the restaurant, the first thing you will notice is the large tanks with all sorts of seafood. I’m talking about horseshoe crabs, large clams, king river prawns and huge lobsters. On the other side of the entrance, you will see all the freshly caught fish covered in ice. All of them of excellent size and if you are a seafood lover, you will instantly get excited.

King Seafood in Pattaya is located in the middle of Walking Street and is recognizable with their bright yellow painted frontage. Guests can choose so dine inside, but the best seats can be found at the outside area in the back of the restaurant where you have an excellent view on the ocean as well as the famously Pattaya City Sign. I would highly recommend visiting King Seafood during sunset as it creates such a cool atmosphere. During our visit, we were almost the only guests, as the restaurant’s peak hours is much later in the evening. The result: a quiet and nice seafood dinner while watching the sunset. The following pictures will speak for itself.

The Menu of King Seafood in Pattaya

As mentioned earlier, the restaurant has a huge variety of seafood and the menu is incredibly large. The menu offers mostly Thai seafood dishes, however, there are some international options like the Lobster Thermidor as well. One thing that is annoying about the menu of King Seafood is the fact that often prices are presented by weight, which is pretty common at seafood restaurants. Therefore, you might be ending up paying way more than you expected. In the next paragraph, I will give you the most recommended dishes and will give the total price of each dish. When it comes to seafood at King Seafood, the sky is the limit. Therefore, we tried to select really tasty dishes without ending up with an extremely high bill.

The most recommended food at King Seafood in Pattaya

Steamed Sea Bass with Lemon Sauce (553 THB)

The steamed sea bass is served with a large bowl which is a herby lime and lemon-based soup. Because the fish is steamed, the sea bass is nicely tender. The soup in which the sea bass is bathing in can be eaten as well and in my opinion, really well-balanced in flavours. If you do want to get some extra spiciness, you should try the added sliced chilli. These small, yet easily detectible red heaters are really spicy. If you don’t like spicy food, you just leave them out and still can enjoy this delicious seafood main course.

A must-order!

Fried Crab with Curry Powder (995 THB)

A very classic Thai seafood curry which is mainly sweet and is a great treat for foreigners when exploring the Thai cuisine. As the curry itself is not spicy, it’s one of the most accessible, yet exotic Thai seafood meals. The use of freshly caught crab is what makes this curry expensive, however, if you want to enjoy a special meal during your holidays, this fried crab will absolutely do its job. Highly recommended as it’s so well-flavoured, although getting the meat out of the crab is always a bit of a pain in the ass, though.

Fried Squid with Garlic and Pepper Sauce (220 THB)

Delicious food does not have to be complicated. This fried squid is a perfect example of it. The squid is perfectly cooked, meaning that it is not chewy at all. In fact, it’s tender and when it’s covered in a garlicky pepper sauce, it’s one big feast! The fried squid is perfect as a side dish, to have some completely different flavours during your meal.

Fried Baby Clams with Chili Paste (220 THB)

Remember when I mentioned the seafood in the water tanks located at the front of the restaurant? One of these tanks were filled with clams and I was already impressed by the size of the clams. I would highly recommend ordering these fried baby clams with chilli paste, as I’ve never had clams this large. Normally, when I order this Thai seafood dish, I am always eating tiny clams, but at King Seafood in Pattaya, the clams are really big. The chilli sauce is really tasty too, with the right amount of spiciness. Another highly recommended seafood option.

King Seafood in Pattaya is a popular seafood restaurant for decades for a reason: the seafood is simply really tasty.
