BKK Bagel Bakery is a shop located near Chit Lom BTS Station. It’s a popular shop to get the best bagels in Bangkok. In this article, I will tell you all about BKK Bagel Bakery and their most recommended bagels.
To be precise, BKK Bagel Bakery is located on the ground floor of the building that is connected to Chit Lom BTS Station, next to the Kipling shop. BKK Bagel Bakery can be recognized by its bright orange awning. The shop itself has modern looks and an open kitchen, where you can see how the bagels are made. The restaurant is owned by two friends, an American and a Thai. Each day, they make sure that the hand-rolled bagels are served according to American standards. Next to bagels, there are sandwiches and salads available. But the majority of its customers are visiting BKK Bagel Bakery for one of their delicious bagels.
The menu of nineteen different spreads available and visitors can choose between ten different bagels. This might be overwhelming, although there are a few classic spreads that are guaranteed success. Besides, the staff does recommend which bagels you should choose with each spread. During several visits, the following four came out as my favourite bagels.
My absolute favourite was the Reuben Bagel (250 THB). This hot sliced house-cured corned beef is served with sauerkraut, oven melted gruyere cheese and finished with Russian dressing. For this spread, I choose the onion bagel, based on the staff’s advice.
My second favourite bagel at BKK Bagel Bakery was the Hog Haven (185 THB). It’s a house-smoked ham with Gruyere Cheese, sharp American mustard and pickles. It was served on a Plain Bagel, as the mustard and the smokey ham were already pretty dominant.
An all-time favourite is the Lox, Stock & Bagel (225 THB). The cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, dill and thinly sliced red onion were served on a sesame bagel, but again, it’s up to the customer on what bagel it should be served.
One of the most-ordered bagels at BKK Bagel Bakery is the Smoked Chicken, Bacon & Avocado (205 THB). It’s a bagel with smoked chicken, crispy bacon, lettuce, mayo, avocado slices, cream cheese and sun-dried tomato.
Overall verdict: BKK Bagel Bakery is the place to go when you are craving for a bagel in Bangkok. My absolute favourite bagel here was the Reuben Bagel, but honestly, every bagel I tried here was seriously tasty. Although the bagels are a bit pricy, the ingredients are fresh and flavour-wise they are amazing! BKK Bagel Bakery is open daily from 07:30 until 17:30, except on the weekends when they are opening one hour later.
