The best seafood in Pattaya are:
Fried White Perch with Sour & Spicy Salad (580 THB) - The Glass House
The Glass House is a popular restaurant built next to the beach that has an amazing atmosphere and a menu full of seafood. Among these food options is this Fried White Perch with Sour & Spicy Salad (580 THB). What it actually is, is a crispy deep-fried fish covered in a so-called laab dressing, which is incredibly herby with chillies and mint and usually served with minced pork or chicken. During our visit, we were surprised how delicious this combination is, as it was my first time that I tasted a “laab with fried fish”. Besides the fact that the food tasted excellent, the vibe they created at the Glass House is so unique, that it’s almost a must-visit for anyone who wants to see the sunset and enjoy a nice cocktail while sitting at the beach near a palm tree. And if you are hungry, definitely go for the fried white perch. Other recommended seafood options here are Creamy Tom Yum with Seafood (550 THB) and the Fried Prawns in Tamarind Sauce (490 THB). Grilled Prawns with Tamarind Sauce (600 THB) - J Tum Kitchen
Where the previously recommended seafood restaurant also is known for its amazing atmosphere, has this local eatery none of these vibes. It does not look that inviting at first sight, but never judge a book on its cover as the seafood at J Tum Kitchen is really impressive. What makes J Tum Kitchen so special is that they use exotic ingredients such as lobster and enormous jumbo prawns. One of the highly recommended seafood options here is the Grilled Prawns with Tamarind Sauce (600 THB). The prawns are grilled in Thai style, meaning that you don’t have to expect a perfectly cooked prawn, but a prawn that is packed with interesting flavours. Other highly recommended are the Deep-Fried Rock Lobster with Garlic and Pepper (450 THB) and Grilled Scallops with Garlic. More information can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of J Tum Kitchen.

Deep-Fried Sea Bass with Sweet Fish Sauce (485 THB) - The Sky Gallery
The Sky Gallery is a popular restaurant as it serves great quality and tasting food while you can enjoy the beautiful beachside view. In Pattaya, you can find several of these restaurants, with each of them their own style and menu. These restaurants are the ultimate place to relax and enjoy delicious (sea)food. What makes The Sky Gallery a little bit different than the rest of the seafood restaurants in Pattaya, is the fact that they only work with local fishermen instead of large companies. The reason behind this is that some of these larger companies use chemicals to maintain the freshness of the seafood as they are often far out at the sea. That does not mean restaurants listed in this article will buy their seafood from these larger companies, but only mean that I am certain The Sky Gallery doesn’t. Their signature dish is this Deep-Fried Sea Bass with Sweet Fish Sauce (485 THB). As the sea bass is filleted before fried, the chunks of fish are extra crunchy and no fish bones will be found while eating. Other highly recommended seafood options here are the Red Curry Blue Crab with Wildbeatle Leaves (365 THB), Steamed Mackerel with Red Curry (255 THB) and The Sky Seafood Pasta (295 THB). More information can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of The Sky Gallery or on our in-depth article about The Sky Gallery.

Squid Fried in Salty Egg Curry (220 THB) - Suttangrak Pattaya
Every city has its own speciality and in Pattaya, the fried squid with salty egg curry can be found on every seafood restaurants menu. During our visits to Pattaya, we tried this dish several times and several different seafood restaurants and we came to the conclusion that the version at Suttangrak Pattaya was our favourite. The dish is just a little bit spicy and mostly sweet and salty. The squid should be tender and not chewy and at Suttangrak, we believe that is was cooked to perfection. This seafood restaurant in Pattaya is a popular place, which is in business since 1971, where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset, the beach and a little bit of laid-back vibe of the beach club itself. Other highly recommended seafood options here are Deep Fried Grouper with Sweet & Sour Sauce (700 THB), Tom Yum Goong Mea-Nam (500 THB) and their impressive Baked King Lobster with Cheese (2650 THB). Deep-Fried Sea Bass with Tamarind Sauce (420 THB) - MAYs Pattaya
The philosophy of MAYs is a bit different than the other seafood restaurants in Pattaya in this article. MAYs does use authentic recipes, however, she replaces all artificial flavour enhancers with natural ingredients. Even a scoop of sugar will be replaced with the sweetness of a piece of fruit. Combine this healthy, yet tasty approach with impressive-looking dishes and you get a successful formula. MAYs has several branches over Asia and the one in Pattaya is where it all started. Although not completely a seafood restaurant, there are several tasty seafood options available and the Deep-Fried Sea Bass with Tamarind Sauce (420 THB) is simply amazing. Other highly recommended seafood options are Sea Bass with Yellow Curry (490 THB), Pomelo Salad with Prawn and Chicken (180 THB) and the Spicy Mussel Salad (260 THB).
