The best restaurants near Jomtien Beach Pattaya are:
1. J Tum Kitchen
This local eatery was one of the biggest surprises during our visits to Pattaya. What surprised us the most was the quality of seafood that is being served here, as well as you won’t expect that they serve this kind of food at a place like this. From the outside, J Tum Kitchen looks like a basic restaurant located in a street where you mostly expect condominiums. The menu of J Tum Kitchen consists of the standard Thai dishes as well as a few excellent local seafood dishes. It’s these local seafood dishes that you have to try.
Our two personal favourites are the Deep-Fried Rock Lobster with Garlic (450 THB) and the Grilled Prawns with Tamarind (600 THB). Both of these dishes are large portions that are easily shared with at least two persons. Other recommended dishes are the Stir-Fried Squid with Salad Egg (200 THB) and the Grilled Scallops with Garlic (250 THB). More information about J Tum Kitchen, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of J Tum Kitchen.
2. MAYs Pattaya
MAYs Pattaya is the first branch of the MAYs franchise and can be seen as one of the best restaurants near Jomtien Beach Pattaya. What makes this restaurant so unique is the use of authentic recipes for Thai dishes without adding artificial flavour enhancers. For example, instead of using refined sugar, they use the sweetness of fruit instead. The results are obvious: the food is extremely balanced and gives you a satisfying feeling in your stomach. But let me be clear: the reason why it’s such a popular place is that the food is simply delicious.
The following dishes are highly recommended: Pineapple Fried Rice (250 THB), Deep-Fried Seabass with Tamarind Sauce (420 THB), Spicy Mussel Salad (260 THB), MAYs Curry with Duck (380 THB) and Sticky Rice with Lychee and Mango (190 THB). An extensive review of MAYs can be found in our article about MAYs Pattaya and Bangkok. More information about MAYs Pattaya, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of MAYs Pattaya.
3. The Glass House
One of the most popular beachfront restaurants in Jomtien is The Glass House. For years, this restaurant offers an ultimate beachfront experience where guests can enjoy good (sea)food while watching the sun go down and sipping on tasty cocktails. Of all the restaurants listed in this article about the best restaurants near Jomtien Beach Pattaya, this place has the best atmosphere and I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant during your visit to Pattaya.
The most recommended dishes are the Creamy Tom Yum with Seafood (550 THB), Fried White Perch with Sour & Spicy Salad (580 THB) and the Fried Prawn with Tamarind Sauce (490 THB). An extensive review of The Glass House can be found in our article about The Glass House. More information about The Glass House, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of The Glass House.
4. Pa Tidd
When it comes to local eateries, Pa Tidd is as local as it gets. The restaurant is located a bit away from the Jomtien Beach itself, but definitely worth to visit. Pa Tidd is a unique place as it’s only open five hours a day between ten o’clock in the morning until three o’clock in the afternoon (and closed on Fridays). But as soon as the local restaurant opens its doors, cars are stopping by and groups of locals are getting a table. The most popular dish, by far, is the Krapao Seafood (80 THB), which is an amazingly spiced pad kra pao with prawns and squid. Another highly recommended dish at Pa Tidd is the Stir-Fried Crispy Pork with Garlic and Pepper (70 THB), which is a simple rice dish covered in super crunchy fried pork. The third and last recommended dish is the Crispy Fried Egg Spicy Salad (120 THB), which is a so-called yum salad with egg. The dressing of this salad is quite unusual and reminded me more of a honey-mustard style dressing. The fact that this restaurant is only open five hours a day on unusual times and the popularity of this restaurant, makes it a noteworthy restaurant near Jomtien beach Pattaya. More information about Pa Tidd, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Pa Tidd.
5. Pattaya Buffet
Are you visiting Pattaya with a group? You might want to consider a visit to Pattaya Buffet, an all-you-can-eat Thai barbecue with plenty of seafood to choose from. For only 399 THB, you can eat yourself completely full with all sorts of (sea)food options. The price excludes drinks but is still a bargain. The food they serve here is fresh, but don’t expect the highest quality possible. Not only is this barbecue delicious, but it’s also fun to do and as soon as the restaurant opens its doors, which is at five o’clock in the afternoon, but the restaurant also gets packed with groups of hungry locals. More information about Pattaya Buffet, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Pattaya Buffet.
Suttangrak is a beach club that is in business since 1971 and a popular place for both locals as foreigners to grab a seafood dinner while enjoying the sunset. In the evening, live music performances will assure you to have a great evening, but in this article, we shall focus on the highly recommended food this restaurant has to offer.
One of the highlights of the menu is the Deep-Fried Grouper with Spicy Sweet & Sour Sauce (700 THB), which is a super crunchy deep-fried fish covered in a delicious dressing. Another highly recommended dish is their Tom Yum Goong Mea-Nam (500 THB), which is the large version that you can easily share with a few people. The flavour of this soup is amazing, with plenty of herbs and spiciness, as well as a few large river prawns. Throughout Pattaya, you will find a typical dish called Squid in Salty Egg. This seafood dish is a speciality in Pattaya and after trying countless versions of it, we came to the conclusion that the one at Suttangrak is the best we tried. A portion of Squid Fried in Salty Egg Curry Sauce cost you (220 THB). An extensive review of The Glass House can be found in our article about Suttangrak. More information about Suttangrak, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Suttangrak.
7. View Mare
View Mare is, like Suttangrak, a popular beachfront restaurant located in the southern parts of Jomtien and offers a wide variety of delicious seafood. What makes View Mare such a cool place is the laid-back vibe that has been created by the owners. Guests can choose to sit beachside tables with swings as chairs as well as lounge seats with excellent beachside views. But most important, View Mare serves delicious seafood and we recommend you try one of the following dishes: New Zealand Mussels in Spicy Herbal Gravy (220 THB), Deep-Fried Whole Snapper Topped with Herbs (420 THB) and their best-seller, the Scallops Covered in Cheese. More information about View Mare, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of View Mare.
8. Tea Factory
Tea Factory is a beautiful restaurant, which is part of A La Campagne, located in the southern parts of Jomtien. The building in which the Tea Factory is located looks like a Mediterranean villa, which is often being used for wedding parties. The Tea Factory is specialized in French-inspired food as well as pastries that are being served with one of their signature teas. It’s a great place to have lunch, brunch, dinner or just a stop by to get a nice cup of tea. When visiting, make sure to order at least one of the following dishes: Linguini Vongole (280 THB), the Grilled Pork Chop (420 THB) and the Beef Burger (285 THB). For the pastry, the Red Velvet (120 THB) is their well-deserved bestseller. More information about Tea Factory, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Tea Factory.
9. La Bocca
If you are craving for authentic Italian food, head over to La Bocca. This is arguably the best Italian restaurant in Jomtien and in Pattaya. The owner as well as the chef are from Milan and serve real Italian food of which some are served with fish that the owner catches himself. There are mostly changing menu’s available as well for visitors who are looking for something extra special. Make sure to order at least one of the following dishes at La Bocca: Tagliere di Salumi (490 THB), Fettuccine alle Bolognese (310 THB), Osso Bucco di Vitello (490 THB) and the signature Pizza la Bocca (280 THB). In general, the prices at La Bocca are slightly higher what you are used to, but keep in mind that the ingredients they use are of excellent quality and often imported from Milan itself. More information about La Bocca, such as opening times, location and other users’ opinions can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of La Bocca.
