The best Thai restaurants in Silom are:

1. Baan Phadthai

Baan Phadthai can measure itself with the best restaurants in Silom as over the years, as it consistently managed to serve high-quality, classic Thai dishes to its customers. And as the name of the restaurant already suggests, Baan Phadthai is specialized in…Pad Thai, although the menu does offer a few alternatives. Their signature Pad Thai Goong Yang (250 THB) is a luxurious version of a Pad Thai served with three enormous, juicy river prawns. There is another signature Pad Thai version available, which is Pad Thai Gai Yang (190 THB) and is served with grilled chicken. Make sure to leave some room for traditional dessert like their Tub Tim Grob (130 THB). We listed Baan Phadthai in our article about the best pad Thai in Bangkok for obvious reasons. More information about Baan Phadthai, such as the location, opening times and other TopTravelFoods users' reviews can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Baan Phadthai.

2. Lek Seafood

Listed in our article about the best seafood in Bangkok, Lek Seafood is a fantastic seafood restaurant in Silom. This local eatery has all the looks a local Thai restaurant should have: aluminum tables, plastic chairs, bright fluorescent lights and old tiles on the floor. But at Lek Seafood it’s not about the looks, but all about the fresh seafood they serve. Our favourites on the menu are Fried Big Prawn with Garlic and Pepper (400 THB), Fried Soft Crab with Garlic and Pepper (450 THB) and Stir-Fried Baby Clam in Chili Sauce (150 THB), but there are many other recommendations to be found on their menu. More information about Lek Seafood, such as the location, opening times and other TopTravelFoods users' reviews can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Lek Seafood.

3. Nalin Kitchen

Nalin Kitchen is a small, cosy restaurant that offers tasty, clean Thai food for a fair price. It’s located a bit away from Silom Road, but it’s definitely worth the visit as the menu offers a good variety of dishes that will satisfy everyone’s hunger. There were two dishes that absolutely stand out for me and that was the Thai Spicy Salad with Squid and Prawn (145 THB) and the Deep-Fried Papaya Salad (135 THB), but popular dishes such as Red Curry with Chicken (155 THB) and Tom Kha Kai (155 THB) are recommended too. More information about Nalin Kitchen, such as the location, opening times and other TopTravelFoods users' reviews can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Nalin Kitchen.

4. Somtum Der

When you’re craving for Isaan food in Silom then your best option is Somtum Der. Recognized by other media and rewarded with a listing in the Michelin Guide, Somtum Der does a few things very well. First of all, the food that’s served here is clean and of high quality while maintaining authenticity. Secondly, the place just looks inviting with friendly staff and adequate service. As the name of the restaurants already suggests, customers can choose between a wide variety of papaya salads.

The Spicy Papaya Salad with Deep-Fried Catfish (95 THB) is one of their signatures and absolutely delicious. Pair this salad with one of the typical Isaan grilled meats such as House Special Grilled Pork Neck (95 THB) or the Grilled Coconut Milk Marinated Pork Skewer (110 THB) and you have a fantastic meal. The Der Styled Deep-Fried Chicken Wings (85 THB) are highly recommended too. We listed Somtum Der in our article about the best som tum in Bangkok too. More information about Somtum Der, such as the location, opening times and other TopTravelFoods users' reviews can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Somtum Der.

Prachak Pet Yang is one of the great restaurants in Silom that’s also listed in our article about the best local Thai restaurants in Bangkok. What makes Prachak Pet Yang so good is the fact that this local eatery is in business since 1878 where Mr. Prachak brought a centuries-old Cantonese duck recipe over from China. Nowadays, the restaurant is run by the fourth generation of the family. Absolute highlights are the Roasted Duck (100 THB) and the Egg Noodle with Shrimp Wonton (120 THB). 7. Charoen Saeng Silom

Another amazing restaurant in Silom that’s been listed in our best local Thai restaurants in Bangkok article is Charoen Saeng Silom. Charoen Saeng Silom serves braised pork, which is sort of a delicacy and is maybe too adventurous for Western tourists. In Germany, the pork knuckle is crispy on the outside, but here in Thailand, they like it soft and silky. A large portion of Braised Pork Leg costs you 280 THB, while other parts are smaller and cheaper. More information about Charoen Saeng Silom, such as the location, opening times and other TopTravelFoods users' reviews can be found on the TopTravelFoods review page of Charoen Saeng Silom.

But Larb Bpet Yasothon also offers a variety of seafood dishes, including our personal favorite: Snapper Steamed with Lemon (320 THB).
